The New FEI Requirements for Owners/ Corporation Contact Owning Horses are:

- Every Owner assigned to a Horse Ownership has an email on their FEI ID profile page

- Every Corporation assigned to a Horse Ownership has a Corporation Contact/Person of Contact

- Each Corporation Contact/Person of Contact must have an email address on their FEI ID profile page

Email addresses can be added via the person’s FEI ID profile page, via the Ownership creation pop-up window, or via the Corporation’s profile page.

The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) is launching the Equine Out-of-Competition Anti-Doping Testing in 2026 as part of its commitment to promoting fairness, equine welfare, and excellence, both in and out of competition.

The Equine Out-of-Competition Anti-Doping Testing apply to all FEI disciplines, with Endurance being the first to be implemented.

In 2026, a number of endurance horses will be selected to be part of a Testing Pool. These horses will take part in targeted anti-doping testing, and their registered Trainers will need to keep the FEI updated on the horses’ locations at all times—this is known as Whereabouts Information. This information allows the FEI to locate the horses whenever needed and carry out testing without advance notice.

A newly developed feature "Whereabouts App" of the existing FEI HorseApp will support the process of Whereabouts Information submission.

A “How To” page on the use of the Whereabouts App will be provided to the registered Trainers upon notification that their horse(s) has been placed into a Testing Pool.

A user guide for the application will be made available to registered trainers as soon as they are notified that their horse(s) have been included in a test group.

The FEI has published the new System of Education for Officials in the disciplines of Show Jumping, Endurance and for Veterinarians, which will come into effect on 1st December 2025.

News of Prohibited Substances List will come into effect on 1 January 2026.

At its recent in-person meeting, the FEI Board took the following Emergency Board Resolution: The following paragraph will be added to the FEI Veterinary Regulations, Article 1004 ‘Prohibited Methods’, for equine welfare reasons: “1004.4 It is strictly forbidden to use any type of substance/product inside or around the Horse’s mouth and/or tongue that may (i) imitate, induce or cause foaming; and/or (ii) coat or otherwise cover, or partially cover the bit. The prohibition excludes the use of products permitted in the FEI Tack App and the provision of permitted natural treats given in moderation. Contravening this rule will entail a Yellow Warning Card and Elimination.” This rule will come into effect on July 1, 2025.

The Algerian Equestrian Federation, in collaboration with the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa and the African Confederation of Equestrian Sports, is organizing the African School Games from July 31 to August 2, 2025, at the El Assil Equestrian Center in Skikda (Northeast), Algeria.

Riders born between 2008 and 2013 may participate in the following equestrian disciplines: Dressage, Endurance, and Show Jumping.

Each participating team will consist of three riders and one reserve rider.
